Long before the world knew of "Enfield India" there was a tremendous British marque called " Royal Enfield" .
Royal Enfield was a British firm who produced thumpers ( amoung other bikes) in 350 and 500 cc versions - called Bullets if memory serves me correctly.
When Royal Enfield went broke, the factory was purchased and transported to India - years and years later the world is introduced - or rather re intorducted to the Bullets - only this time manufactured literally in exactly the same format as the British model - exported from India.
Modern Enfields are reported to be fairly bullet proof - but the technology is sadly lacking - in 1999 you can purchase a new 1965 motorcycle.
Great thumpers though and carrying a proud tradition - but don't expect anything like the sophistication of our Savage's from these mid 60's classics
